Closeness Series - The Island

People love visiting islands, dream of living in them, but no one wants to be hitched or committed to one. Island types are those who keep most things to themselves; they can be the strong and silent type, the sturdy anchor that keeps everything and everyone grounded in turbulent times. Outside of that, there aren't many other benefits to this stance. They are self-sufficient to a fault.

Humans crave closeness, connectedness, touch, and intimacy. These are basic and primal needs. Islands make those... complicated. Trying. Frustrating. Exhausting. Islands leave loved ones questioning many things.

For the sake of those who love you, who could love you, but more so for YOU, pause for a moment to reflect on how you interact in the world. This affects how meaningful your relationships will be. If you know you're an island, get busy learning how to do things a little differently. You'll have to walk on over to edge of your comfort zone, and bust the gates open.

Please do, because the other parts of you are waiting on the other side.
